Formed in Harlow in 1992, Collapsed Lung went on to record two albums for Steve Lamacq's Deceptive Records label. Their song "Eat My Goal" was picked up by Coca-Cola for their Euro 96 "Eat Football, Sleep Football, Drink Coca-Cola" ad campaign, and charted twice - peaking at #18. They disbanded in late 1996, but recently reformed and are releasing a single - "New Song, Old Band" - in November 2016. Their music plays around with hip hop sampling techniques alongside live instruments, although mostly steering clear of "rap rock" as such. Lyrically there is humour, but also themes of New Town disaffection and a fondness for the more esoteric end of British life.
